So my mom and I decided to turn our yard into a bird’s paradise this year.
Everything was going fine until I saw Coopers Hawk in the tree, eating another bird! It was very odd because we had never seen a bird of prey in our yard. So we both got our cameras and took some photos. Our yard has always been a bird’s paradise, and to see that Coopers Hawk was quite a sight! It’s pretty simple to make your own yard nature friendly.
Attracting small birds is very easy. Just go to your closest garden store. Home Depot is a good place to get bird feeders and seed. Get a shepherds hook to hang one or two bird feeders.
All of these items are not that expensive and easy to set up in your yard. If you live in a place where Finches, Sparrows, Chickadees and Wrens are very common, this will be very simple to attract these birds. Millet and sunflower seed is a great seed mix to feed them. Make sure you have a bird bath because they will bathe themselves a lot with water. They will show up within 1-2 days. They are very common and if you have a bird house the wrens will most likely make a nest. Your yard has to have lots of plants for the birds to hide in. If you want to have wrens make a nest, it has to be in a hidden type of area. But all in all I hope this article helped!
